Village Hall AGM – Wednesday 13th May at 7:00 pm

May 3rd, 2026,

The Trustees will be holding the 2026 Village Hall AGM in the Wren Hall on Wednesday 13 May at 7:00 pm.

All Crawley villagers are welcome.  Come and heard about what’s happening at the Village Hall – including the unveiling of an exciting village project!

Crawley Photos '26'

This is following on from the fascinating historical record left by Ernest Philippi who had photographs taken before and after he had buildings upgraded in the village, which included our Village Hall, in the early part of the 20th century.

In the year 2000 this idea was expanded and a photographic portfolio was created of all the houses in the Parish of Crawley, with a summary included in David Dunbar’s superb history of Crawley: “A finer place to live …”.

A quarter of a century later we are proposing, with the consent of residents, to do the same and create a contemporary photographic chronicle of our pretty village. Once completed, this will purely be for display to residents.

On the night we will have a display of the original pictures and will explain how we anticipate taking this project forward. If you feel you would like to be involved in the practicalities please let us know on the night.

Come to the AGM and hear all about this exciting idea. Although not necessary, if you are able to do so in advance, please email the Trustee Chair, Bart Huby (at bart.huby@btinternet.com), to indicate you are intending to come – so we can ensure sufficient copies of the meeting documents are available for those attending.
