Renaming of the Main Hall as the Wren Hall
Ken Wren was a much loved and respected Crawley resident for nearly 50 years. He had many roles in the community , including Chair of the Trustees of the Village Hall for several years in the early noughties. At that time the Hall needed substantial updating and refurbishment, and Ken was a driving force for what became a major project. He was heavily involved in the design, fund-raising and implementation stages, including getting physically involved in the painting and repair of the Hall.
Ken sadly passed away on 16th April 2022, at the age of 90, at the end of a long and fulfilling life. To honour his involvement with the Hall, without which it is unlikely the Hall would be in its current condition, and with the agreement of his wife Jane, the Main Hall has been renamed the Wren Hall.
